Day 3 - Week 1 - Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."

I'm loving doing this and hearing feedback from some of you either via Facebook, comments (OK - make that 1 comment!) or by things you've said to me directly....BUT, it would be a great encouragement to me if you would "Follow" on the blog, offer some comments here on the blog, or on Facebook.  I'd like this to be a dialogue among all of us who are memorizing.  But MOST of all, I just want to memorize Scripture, so no matter what, I'll be here, stating the verse again and adding a little commentary, either mine or borrowed, or both!  (If nothing else, I am such a talker!)

So tonight I offer this contemplative thought....when the Word says, "In the beginning..." the beginning of what?  It's not God's beginning, because we know that God has no beginning just as He has no end.  I would suggest it was the beginning of time.  The time that we know...the time of this earth...Genesis is the beginning of the story of this earth, when the clock started ticking, just as Revelation is the story of the end of this earth, when time is no more.  God was before and will be after, and because "God created" we are not just collections of happenstance cells that will pass away along with the earth.  Because "God created", we have been allowed the opportunity to live past the end of time, into God's eternity.  And so the story begins...
What do you think?  I'd really like to know!  :)

Could it be the beginning of mankind? He created the earth so there could be human life. He created a world on earth for man. The sky, the mountains, birds, and so and so forth. He created this beautiful planet for man. From that the story begins. It took him 7 days. So....did time exist before, or was time part of the creation.

I think time was part of the creation. That as the universe was put into motion, time became essential for the balance...the planets' rotations...the earth rotating around the sun, I think that's when "time" as we know it began. And time will run out and no longer be needed.
