Day 2 - Week 58 - Psalm 118:24 "This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."

How was your day?  Did you consciously think through this day, "God made this day"?

When we remember that God is the giver of each day of our life, that each day bears His mark on it, that He has determined that we will live this day, doesn't it change our perspective?  It should.

Acts 17:24-26, "The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else.  From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live."

Rather than "getting through" the day, we look for God's hand in it.  We look for people that He is guiding us to, we see the adventure in each new day, knowing that when we remember that God has purposed us to live this day, we will be ready to join Him in His work.

Ephesians 2:1  "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

How much more exciting can life get than to realize that we have been given the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with the Creator of the universe in the accomplishment of His work.  Wow!

Why would we not be joyful when we understand that God is sovereign in His rule, that He has a perfect plan in place that will come to fruition, that we have been redeemed and that we can live in confidence of our salvation and life eternal?

1 Timothy 6:13-16    I charge you--as in the presence of God who gives life to all creatures, and of Christ Jesus who at the bar of Pontius Pilate made a noble profession of faith-- that you keep God's commandments stainlessly and without reproach till the Appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ.   For, as its appointed time, this will be brought about by the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone possesses immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, and whom no man has seen or can see. To Him be eternal honour and power! Amen.

Ephesians 1:7-10  In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.   And he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ,  to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment--to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ.

When we reflect on the truth of God, when we know that every day is in His hands and in His plan, there is no room for anything but joy in our hearts.
