I'm always reminded of a Bible study tool that I learned many years ago...whenever you see a "therefore", you need to look to see what it is there for. This verse starts out with "Therefore, let us...." so what is this "therefore", there for? You always have to look backward to know.
Hebrews 4:15 read, "For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tested in every way as we are, yet without sin."....that's why we have been given access to the throne of grace.
Remember the quote from yesterday cited from Robert J. Morgan author of our reference book?
"This wonderful verse gives us the who, what, where, why and when of prayer."
Morgan goes on to say regarding the "who"...
Now doesn't that paint a beautiful word picture for us? Jesus, our Savior, our brother and our friend, knows us, and knows us personally. It is through our relationship with Him that we acquire access to the throne room.

Let us...The exhortation of Hebrews 4:16 has your name on it. The context reminds us that Jesus, our great High Priest, has gone through the heavens before us, sympathizing with our weaknesses. He opens the door into the throne room of the universe for us.
He has been in our shoes, He understands our temptations and He knows our weaknesses. When we can barely crawl into the presence of God after being beaten down by the world, He is there, opening the door for us --- doing everything He can to usher us into God's presence.
Unlike other religions, Christianity has at its center a Savior who not only loves His brothers, but stands by the Father reminding Him of that deep love with a complete understanding of our hopeless position without Him. He knows, from being here, how the world works to separate us from our identity with God.
I thank God the Father for Jesus my Savior, and for the Holy Spirit who affirms my faith. I thank Him for allowing me to approach Him in the throne room of the universe to bring Him my requests for mercy and grace. What a wonderfully loving God we serve. Praise Him!

As a young girl, and after, I have heard that Jesus knows every hair on our head and every grain of sand on the beaches. Or something like. I don't know what or if sripture supports that somewhere in the Bible. But, I believe Jesus does know everything there is to know about each and everyone of us. He knows and he sympathyzies with our feelings and he provides mercy for our hearts, spirit and our souls. We will never suffer as Jesus did. We have pain and suffering but the Power of God's glory helps us to continue to live our lives, only one day at a time.
God asks anyone who believes to come to him and profess their love and belief that Jesus Christ is our Savior and he died for our sins. And, in our church, we believe that He wants us to publicly profess our faith. He wants us to stand up proud and boldly come to the Throne of His Grace. When we do this we will find his Grace and Mercy. And in God's time will he reach into our hearts and guide us through this life.--so that, some day, in the presence of God and Jesus Christ, the Holy Ghost will reveal to us the complexity of our lives.
I really hope this gets posted. I won't be able to express all of this again in this manner. Love and Praise God and All of his Glory.
Yes it did get posted and I am so glad it did. Beautiful, beautiful expression of faith!
